ArmadaBoost has updated its Diablo 4 category

June 29 22:25 2023

ArmadaBoost has promptly responded to the demand changes during the first weeks of Diablo 4 being live. Its pre-existing products have been updated while new ones have been created within a short period of time. The company’s representative states that keeping up with the demand pattern of new games is always a challenge but a challenge that is always fun to take. Preparation for the release of the game that few people know much of seems like a daunting task and a lot of shops face it. ArmadaBoost’s response to the demand in the stage of its shaping is one way to deal with it.

What has been done before the release?

Before the official release of the game, the company has prepared the subsection “Diablo 4” for their “Diablo games” major section. Diablo 4 was expected to be popular but it wasn’t clear if the game’s popularity would encourage demand for boosts. The previous Diablo release – Diablo Immortal – hasn’t seen a noticeable soar in demand for boosts neither immediately after its release, nor later. This fact made the ArmadaBoost’s planning different from the model they use for most releases in games that have been live for long.

Several pre-order products have been designed. They mainly focused on systems that were expected to be similar to the ones of Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal: power leveling, paragon, and gold. The game’s open beta showed that the expectations were correct, according to the ArmadaBoost representative.

What has been done after the release?

Due to the games 2-phase release, it was possible to make prompt amends before the wide release. The first phase of the release was available for everyone who has purchased a premium edition of the game. Basically, whoever paid more for the game, got to start playing sooner. The number of such customers was quite high but not as a percentage. The behavior pattern of the “premium” players wasn’t enough to have a definitive idea of the demand pattern of the audience after the second phase of the release, but it still gave certain insights. For example, build products have been added as well as Altars of Lilith and several others including:

  • Nightmare dungeons carries

  • Capstone dungeons carries

  • Champion’s Demise power leveling

And many more. The “Diablo 4” has also been promoted from a subsection to a standalone section due to the demand that exceeded the expectations. During the first 2 weeks of the game being live, the demand for the related boosts was high enough for them to become second-selling for ArmadaBoost during that period.

What are the expectations?

Although the demand has remained high and stable for almost a month by now, it’s not yet clear if a game like Diablo 4 is capable of holding this level of demand for long. While it’s a game with MMO elements, it’s still not a proper MMO game and it’s yet to be seen if it has enough repetitive and challenging content to keep related boosting services sought-after.

The genre of the game is important for its “boostability”. However, there have been several well-studied cases, including the most prominent one with the Amazon New World, in which the genre didn’t affect the boostability significantly. New World had a great start and a very high demand for its boosts but it lasted only for several months. Hence, the optimism regarding Diablo 4 is not without caution.
